Mayflower High School
CDT has helped the school complete its wireless network; enabling full coverage around the site with bridge links to some remote buildings. Supplying and installing the active network equipment, Tim Dickens has been working with the school for the past 5 years expanding the network to what could now be considered a large infrastructure.
IT Manager Steve Page comments:
"CDT work very hard to provide the best advice and solution possible. Once works have been agreed, they have always personally ensured that everything goes according to plan. I have always been very pleased with service and quality provided."
Tabor Science College
Tabor Science College is an 11-16 comprehensive school in Essex with just over 1000 students. Over the past twelve months, CDT have been involved with several major projects.
School Manager Nigel Hill comments:
"CDT have always been very professional in their dealings with the school; understanding the tight price constraints and the special requirements of working in schools. Engineers have completed the projects with a high degree of care and flexibility, whether in or out of school hours and have respected the existing fabric of the school.
I will continue to have no hesitation in using their services again"
Northwick Park Junior and Infant School
CDT has transformed the existing ICT suites to a fully cabled and wireless accessible network, which can be accessed from anywhere across the two sites.
The school is currently linking the two sites via a new build corridor following the amalgamation of the infants and juniors.
IT Manager Mrs J Griffiths comments:
"Tim Dickens was recommended to us, as a school, 3 years ago by Research Machines (RM). Since then Tim and his team have completed a substantial amount of work within the school, always to a very high professional standard. They give a consistently reliable service even at short notice and are flexible in their approach to working in the school environment. The after care customer service is second to none giving a professional trust and peace of mind."
St Nicholas RC Primary
CDT's design, consultancy, supply and installation services helped towards the new build officially open in November 2006.
The school's old network in the previous building had been un-reliable and had not encouraged staff to use the technology at their finger tips.
In the new build school not only have CDT installed a full structured cabling system that will serve the school's needs now, we have also put a great emphasis on the schools future needs.
Also included is a wireless network overlay system, installed and configured to provide network access from anywhere within the school, and also around the adjacent building perimeter so that students can access the network from the communal areas.
CDT also installed interactive whiteboards and projectors in every classroom together with amplified speakers, VCR/DVD players and laptops enable both teachers and students free roaming accessibility to all network activities.
During the new build process, CDT attended all main contractors meetings to help, advise and coordinate construction with the data installation.
IT Manager Jane Jestico comments:
"Throughout the relocation process I had to make a number of decisions regarding the ICT provision in the new school. CDT explained all the possible options enabling us to make informed decisions. They translated the technical jargon and made my lives easier! They project managed the whole process for us"
IT Support Sue Parrish comments:
"CDT attended all the site meetings, translated our exact requirements and communicated with all the different contractors. They were always at the end of the phone to answer our questions and queries."
Southend High School for Boys
The school has two separate extensive networks distributed from eight cabinet locations; each linked via fibre optic backbones serving both Admin and Curriculum.
Expansion over the past two years has seen this school's network double in size. Through careful planning and guidance between CDT and the IT Manager the School avoided excessive down time. Following completion of the main expansion the network is more stable and efficient.

Herringham Primary School CDT installed the exciting new Smart Board 600i series interactive whiteboards. The Smart Board 600i consists of a regular interactive whiteboard plus a short-throw wall mountable projector with integrated stereo speakers, ideal for high or inaccessible ceilings where standard ceiling mount projectors cannot be installed.
In addition to the Smart Board install, CDT also provided full project management for electrical, data and carpentry for benching in class bases across the school.
